A significant element of institutional Clery Act compliance is to generate, gather, and distribute information to the campus community. Timely warnings, emergency notifications, and the annual security report are the most well-known pieces of the Clery Act requiring distribution to community members, but it’s important to formalize distribution procedures for written materials such as an explanation of rights and options to victims, fire safety reports, drug and alcohol abuse prevention program (DAAPP) information, and emergency response and evacuation procedures as well.
