About Clery Act Training Seminars (CATS)

Our in-person Clery Act Training Seminar gives higher education professionals a unique chance to engage face-to-face with subject matter experts and institutional peers in a comprehensive review of important campus safety subjects. Participants will: 

• have multiple opportunities to address campus-specific questions,
• apply new concepts through hands-on activities,
• utilize a Workbook that incorporates a plan to implement when back on campus,
• come away with concrete tools, strategies, and ideas to put into practice right away or over time, and
• network and connect with other professionals in the field as well as Clery Center instructors.

Bridge the gap between the requirements of the Clery Act and your campus's distinct needs with a specialized curriculum that addresses both the letter and spirit of the law. Our Clery Act Training Seminars equip participants with the tools and strategies necessary to create an actionable Clery compliance plan. Subjects covered in CATS trainings include:

• Identifying and training campus security authorities (CSAs)
• Identifying Clery geography
• Counting & classifying Clery Act crimes
• Composing an institution’s annual security report (ASR)
• Designing & implementing prevention and response efforts for dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking
• Conducting campus disciplinary procedures for student or employee cases of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking
• Evaluating the need for and issuing timely warnings or emergency notifications
• Developing, revising, or implementing policy and procedures to address any of the above

While anyone with an interest or desire in learning more about the totality of the Clery Act is welcome at all Clery Center trainings, our CATS curriculum is specifically designed for those with responsibility for oversight of Clery Act compliance and/or implementing its requirements.

Fees

• $575 per registrant
• $430 for Member registrants

Member rate: Clery Center Institutional Members receive five (5) free registrations and Individual Members receive a 25% discount that can be applied to any Clery Center Clery Act Training Seminar, training, or workshop.  Institutional Members then receive 25% off additional training registrations after their initial five have been used.

Substitutions: Attendee substitutions from within the same institution are permitted at no additional cost.

Cancellation Policy

Registrations cancelled more than 30 calendar days from the start of the seminar will be refunded to the original payment type.  Registrations cancelled less than 30 days from the start of the seminar will receive a credit which can be used towards a future Clery Center purchase.

No cancellations will be accepted less than 6 business days prior to the training.

Substitutions from within the same institution may be made at any time.
