Chief of Police, University of South Dakota 

Bryant Jackson, Ed.D., is a highly accomplished law enforcement professional and public safety leader. He currently serves as Chief of Police at the University of South Dakota (USD), where he oversees strategic initiatives in law enforcement, public safety, and emergency management. In this role, Bryant ensures a safe and secure campus environment while building strong collaborations with local, state, and federal agencies. He also contributes to higher education as an adjunct graduate faculty member in USD’s Educational Leadership program, where he teaches future leaders about leadership, organizational administration, emergency planning, behavioral threat assessment, and institutional preparedness. Bryant serves as the Mid-America Regional Director for the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). He is a graduate of prestigious leadership programs, including the FBI National Command Course, Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, and the DHS Leadership Academy. Bryant is also a Certified Clery Compliance Officer (NACCOP), and holds an undergraduate degree in Transportation and Logistics Management, a graduate degree in Emergency and Disaster Management, and a Doctor of Education degree in Adult and Higher Education Leadership.
