Dr. Kevin W. Bailey

Dr. Kevin W. Bailey
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, University of North Carolina Charlotte

Dr. Kevin W. Bailey has served as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Graduate Faculty Member in the Cato College of Education at UNC Charlotte since 2017. “Bailey,” as he prefers to be called, has been a champion for enhancing campus safety and making processes more transparent. Student organization discipline results are publicly available and organizational officers are required to attend yearly anti-hazing training. As a senior officer at an urban campus, he thinks about campus safety whether it is increasing the number of cameras on campus, advocating for active shooter training, or reducing the number of ways to enter campus after hours.

Bailey is a presenter, author, mentor, consultant, and teacher. Both of his alma maters have recognized him for his professional contributions to higher education. Bailey was also recognized by NASPA, Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, as a Pillar of the Profession for his contributions to the student affairs profession for a sustained period of time and featured in the publication Who’s Who in Black Charlotte in 2023.

Bailey is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), Bowling Green State University, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
