Melinda Latas As Chief Compliance Officer at the California State University, Melinda supports and serves the talented professionals responsible for compliance across the largest and most consequential public four-year higher education system in the country. Prior to joining CSU, Melinda spent four years managing Clery Compliance at The Ohio State University. Knowledge is power, and for the past decade Melinda has sought to empower faculty, staff, and students with information and confidence to make informed decisions about their safety. Melinda has presented compliance topics to national audiences including twice at the National Association of Clery Compliance Officers and Professionals (NACCOP), the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), and the International Town-Gown Association (ITGA), and has been featured on higher education podcasts. Melinda is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) by SCCE and brings to the National Advisory Council knowledge of diverse university structures, operations, and policies from experience at public, private, land grant, and liberal arts institutions. Melinda holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University, where she studied Educational Human Resources Development and Sociology, and she earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Student Affairs at The Ohio State University and a Master of Studies in Law from the Moritz College of Law. |
